Management Services

The Management Services Division is functionally responsible for provision of administrative services to the National Cultural Commission's Management processes, which includes the Secretariate and the three Cultural Institutions. In particular, the Division is responsible for systems development, provision of financial and accounting services, personnel matters, budgets, internal control systems and other general administrative matters.

Presently, it is also responsible for the daily running of the Commission's Cultural Gift Shop. The Shop provides the 'front' for showcasing the Commission's commercial activities. The primary focus in this area of operation is on comprehensive development of arts as an industry.

This Division is responsible for the Finance and Administration of the Commission. With the down sizing of the Public Service by the previous
Government the Commission had to reduce the number of staff ceiling from 115 to 72 permanent and 19 casuals positions were filled in April, 2001.

One of its main calendar activity for this year will be on setting in place a Staff Development and Training Program for the National Cultural Commission for the next five (5) years.

The Commission views this programme as important to develop, co-ordinate, facilitate and conduct training for all Commission Staff be in-house, abroad or within the country. For an organisation to progress, it must have its staff educated/trained to the highest standard possible and therefore the Management Services Division has been tasked to spearhead this programme.
